Cowsills, Kaye Stevens Open Flamingo This Eve
The Cowsills, America’s first family of music return to the Las Vegas Strip tonight when they open a two-week engagement in the main showroom of the Flamingo Hotel with chanteuse Kaye Stevens.
The Cowsill, a six-member family act with a truckload of his single, and albums, made their big time nitery debut one year ago at the Flamingo and earned plaudits for their showmanship and stage savvy as well as for their singing and musicianship.
Consisting of Barbara “Mama” Cowsill, her four teenage sons and her 1-yer-old daughter Susan, the Cowsills first demanded national attention with their recording of “The Rain The Park and Other Things.”
They followed the initial hit with big sellers like “We Can Fly,” “In Need Of A Friend,” “Indian Lake” and “Hair.” They were also enthusiastically received in appearances on television shows like the Jonathan Winters Show, Operation Entertainment, Hollywood Palace, Kraft Music Hall and the Ed Sullivan Show.
They have become a popular attraction in concert halls across the country.
