Susan Cowsill, 8:30 p.m. Thursday at FitzGerald's, 6615 W. Roosevelt Road, Berwyn. $8 (312)559-1212

Not many musicians can claim the varied history of Susan Cowsill. In the '60s she was the yungest member of the family band the Cowsills, a pop phenomenon responsible for a few hits songs but known more for inspiring the Partridge Family knockoff. In her post-Cowsills years, she knocked around L.A. studios as a go-to backup singing for people like Dwight Twilley, Nanci Griffith, and others. That led to forming the Continental Drifters with her then-husband Peter Holsapple of the dB's. The New Orleans roots rock group turned in three albums before splitting for good in 2001. Now, at age 46, she has finally gone solo with her debut album, "Just Believe It" (Blue Corn), featuring guest appearances by Lucinda Williams. This tour find the New Orleans resident in exile because her home was lost in the recent flood.
