My mom's record collection made me cherish the melodic sound of late-'60s pop, and some of its best purveyors have teamed up for the Happy Together Tour, rolling through town at the Calvin in Northampton on Thursday at 7 p.m.
It's billed as "an all-star feel-good concert with hit after hit," and who can argue with this lineup: The Turtles (above) featuring Flo & Eddie, Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, The Box Tops, The Association, The Cowsills, and The Archies with Ron Dante.
The Cowsills are a big attraction for this fan, as recent videos show that the siblings still harmonize with all their hearts, and in the years since their original heyday hits ("Hair," "The Rain, The Park and Other Things," "Love American Style"), they've kept rocking, both together and separately.
