America’s foremost musical family, the COWSILLS, are scheduled to appear in Dallas at the State Fair Music Hall on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14.

Barbara Cowsill, perhaps the only “singing mother” in the country today said, “We are delighted to come back to Dallas. The kids and Bud (father) and I had such a wonderful time working the State Fair of Texas and the Youth Against Drugs rally in Garland, we just fell I love with Dallas.”

Unique among contemporary groups, the COWSILLS are a family. Managed by “Dad” Bud Cowsill, a retired Navy Chief, the group includes “Mom” Barbara and the children, Bob, Bill, Barry, John, Paul and Susan. Their family is famous for one after another hit recordings as well as appearances on national network television in their own special as well as guest appearances on such shows as the Kraft Music Hall.

Choice seats are still available for the 8 PM performance at the State Fair Music Hall. Prices range from $3.50, $4.50, $5.50 and $6.50. Tickets are available at all six State Fair Box Offices located in Titche’s Department Stores: Downtown, Lochwood, Wynnewood, Preston-Forest, North Park and Arlington.

Part of the promotional effort will be a contest among student newspapers in college, high school and junior high school. Barbara described the contest, saying “We thought it would be fun to let the kids make up their own ad for us so we just gave them an order for an ad and they’ll do it themselves. These young people can be very clever if you give them the opportunity. We’ll judge the best ad at our special Press Conference for student newspapers Saturday at 1 and give the winners their own box seats for the show.”
