Shortly after eight p.m., a quiet hush settled over the excited audience gathered in the Jacob Brown Auditorium. The curtains opened to reveal a stage illuminated with violet and white lights. Spotlighted in the center were, The Cowsills, Bob, Barry, John and Susan.
Bob and Barry snagged the leads in the first five songs performed by the group. A pause for a short welcome then followed. Bob introduced younger sister, Slusdan, who then sang two songs including, "Look What Tey've Done To My Song." Immediately afterward, Barbara Cowsill, their mother, was introduced. Barbara sang a country hit, "Help Me Make It Through The Night." A bit of comedy was added when each member of the group was introduced.
Barbara followed with two more country songs, "Five-Hundred Miles", and "Country Road."
The group paid their tribute to Texas by singing "Long Tall Texan."
John traded places with Barry and was spotlighted as he paid tribute to Johnny Cash. Playing a folk guitar, he performed, "I Walk The Line" and "Folsom Prison Blues."
Barry was spotlighted as he paid his tribute to contemporary girls. With a somewhat unusualstyle of wild dancing, he sang, "Honky Tonk Woman."
For their close, which came too quickly for a delighted audience, The Cowsills sang three of their biggest hits, "The Rain, The Park and Other Things", "Indian Lake", and last but not least "Hair." After a quick thank-you to the most appreciative audience, the group went off stage to sign autographs.
