Cowsills' obscure pleasure

I am not aware of the Cowsills having done much lately so was interested to hear this one. It seems to have been done more for their own pleasure than for that of the public and some of it, although uncomplicated, is obscure. They have fallen into what I regard as the trap of repetition, which is probably supposed to gain emphasis, but which in fact bores many people.

However, at least it can be listened to as it generally adopts a quiet, reflective tempo and presentation, and at least one tract, ‘Silver Threads and Golden Needles’ was a fun thing.

An interesting note on the quite-bright cover is the invocation to write to the group’s fan clun in Los Angeles.
