Put on your blue suede shoes and shuffle out to the Roberts Creek community hall this Friday night for some "big rhythmic sound" from the Blue Shadows.
In the process, you could also be pumping some electricity into the microphones of would-be local DJs hankering after their very own Coast radio station.
Music from the Vancouver-based Blue Shadows band runs the gamut from country to rock to rhythm and blues.
Members Billy Cowsill, Barry Muir, Jeff Hatcher and Jay Johnson have been together two years most recently, playing the Creek hall's 60th birthday bash last May.
The band's debut album, On The Floor Of Heaven, was released a year ago.
But there will also be plenty of new material Friday night which the group's been getting ready for recording a new album this winter.
In between the two albums, the band's been busy performing and opening for acts across Canada, ranging from the Rankin Family to the Crat Test Dummies. This summer, they also played at the Commonwealth Games in Victoria.
Proceeds from the dance will be split between tent-repair for the big top used at many Roberts Creek functions and a new volunteer group, Friends of Coast Radio, who are working towards getting community radio up and running on the Sunshine Coast.
The dance runs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Oct. 7.
Tickets available from the Roberts Creek General Store, Talewind Books and Sayward Books.
The group's publicist predicts a show similar to last year on Friday: "It was an absolute love-fest."
