City's Playgrounds Have Several Hikes

Yesterday was hiking day in the city's playground. Twenty children from Morton Park hiked to Blue Rocks off Washington Street for crabbing. Several youngsters from Park-Holm visited Aquidneck Park, the Children's room at the People's Library and the Old Stone Mill at Torro Park.

Other trips not on foot, were made by youngesters from Tonomy Playground, who went to Third Beach; Hunter, who went swimming at King Park and Cottrell and Aquidneck who went crabbing at the Blue Rocks.

Junior leaders for the day were : Morton Park, Margaret Saunders, Pamela Shaw, Vilma Wright and Edna Nelson: Park-Holm, Susan Gouveia, May Albro and Gail Hetland; Tot Lot, Herbert Armstrong and Linda Wiggins; Friends, Barbara Viera, Lorraine Jackson and Marlene Lopes; Murphy, Dianne Quinn, William Murphy, Maureen Fitzgerald, and Patsy Gaudette; Tomony, Sheila Wals and Jackie Mrozowski; Hunter, Robert Cowsill and William Harrington; and Aquidneck, Pauline Surboy and Eddie McCarthy.
