It’s been a long and winding road for Billy Cowsill, from chart-topper with the Cowsills in the ‘60s (The Rain, The Park And Other Things as well as a version of Hair) to a man whose hard-knock life experiences and evolving rootsy style of music betray his bubblegum past. Cowsill is back in town performing at Oreste’s 739 2nd Ave S.W., tonight through Saturday with his new band Blue Shadows. Cowsill’s groups are always top-notch, from the days when Colin James manned guitar to his current band which includes guitarist Jeffrey Hatcher, a recording artist in his own right. Well worth checking out.
