Appel, whose only claim to fame before he sprung Springsteen on the world was co-authorship of a song recorded by The Cowsills, is still in the management business. He has a new client, a singer-composer from Illinois by the name of Arlyn Gale, who has recorded an album, Back to the Midwest Night, for ABC Records.
