Munich – Block booking of entertainers for Army clubs in Europe is bringing top performers to the troops under a new plan.
“Special Services now hires performers for weeks at a time through a central office. They policy has made entertainment available to clubs throughout the command on an equal basis and cut the costs of some artists by as much as half,” said marc Belfort, chief of the commercial entertainment branch.
Among the stars in the agency lineup for the first half of 1971: Tex Ritter, Tommy Hunt, George Hamilton IV, Joe Tex, The Cowsills, The Delfonics, The New Christy Minstrels, Matt Monro Eartha Kitt, Rufus Thomas and Maynard Ferguson.
