In response to a recent Mailbox letter about the once-popular Cowsills, I would like to add a few more facts.
A couple of years back, the Cowsills were forced to file bankruptcy for debts accumulated while trying to keep their act together.
However, the youngest Cowsill is back in business. A slightly older Susan Cowsill has a short-term contract with Warner Brothers Records.
This summer she released a rendition of the old Carole King classic "It Might as Well Rain Until September." - Tom Connolly
Thank you. Upon further checking we concur with your information. William Cowsill, his wife, Barbara, and six children filed for bankruptcy June 27, 1975, claiming debts of $445,339.
Among their creditors were dozens of hotels, credit-card companies, airlines, lawyers, recording studios and agents. Their total assets included $78 in cash and $4895 in personal property.
How fleeting is fame and fortune.
