CANYON – A family that pooled musical talents to form the pop-rock group known as the Cowsills is slated for performance Oct. 28 at West Texas State University.
The show is scheduled at 8 p.m. in Activities Center Ballroom under sponsorship of the WTSU Student Activities Council.
The Cowsills formed step by step – first as a duo featuring Bill and Bob – the later then 7 years old. Other brothers gradually joined. The duo had become a quartet by the time the mother joined the group in 1967, for their recording of “The Rain, the Park, and Other Things” – which became their first million-seller.
They have gone on to even larger numbers – at one time, the group numbered six – and a number of hit recordings including “Hair” and “We Can Fly.”
Bill, no longer with the group, is now an independent record producer. Bob is the group’s composer. Among his credits is “The Prophesy of Daniel and John the Divine.”
Show tickets will be available to the public Thursday at the Activities Center box office.
