Annual Meeting Of ADA December 12
December 10, 1968
Sterling Daily Gaette
Sterling, Illinois

Energetics and Cowsills and dairy cows? Is there a relationship? Dairy farmers who invest in the American Dairy Association program know that some of the advertising dollars are being used to hire these two singing groups (The Energetics and the Cowsills) to promote milk and other dairy products.

According to Chairman Wilmer Smith, Mr. Carroll, “All dairy farmers and their wives are invited to attend a district annual meeting of the American Dairy Association on Thursday Dec. 12, at the Carroll County Farm Bureau in Mt. Carroll, to look over the past year’s program including the Energetics and the Cowsills. The meeting will start at 11 p.m. and adjourn at 2:30 p.m. A free lunch will be served at noon.”

Smith continued, “The purpose of the meeting, in addition to reviewing the 1968 program, is to elect one state director and seven district directors.”

The 1969 promotion and advertising plans will be presented and discussed. There will be time for questions. Several ADA members have indicated they are in favor of asking for an enabling act. Such an act if approved by a majority of dairy farmers, could require a set aside from milk that goes to manufacturing plants and would, of course, include milk for the fluid market.

The dairy farmers present at the meeting will determine what topics they are interested in discussing.

All persons interested in the dairy industry are invited to attend this meeting.
