Bob Cowsill is probably the most "alive" person I know. I say "alive" in the sense that life and enthusiasm seem to ooze from every pore in his body. He's ready for anything, loves a challenge and will be forever the cool one.
It seems very saccharine to say that Bobby was "always a good boy," but the truth is that he was. He was brought up to respect parential discipline, and out of this grew a desire to please them as well as make his brothers and Susie proud of him in every way.
You can't tell at first that Bob is so knowledgeable on the subject of music. But get him talking and he'll talk your ear off about this bass line and that chord and this harmony. On stage, he is smiling and he projects personality with every move he makes. Together with Bill, Bob wrote and produced the entire "We Can Fly" album-—their second album. His ear for music is remarkable—and you can bet that when he listens to a tune and says —"that's a hit," - invariably it turns out to be a top tenner at least.
Bobby is a homebody, prefering to it home and listen to music, read, study or watch TV as opposed to clubbing and raving around. Oh, of course he doeshis fair share of raving around — when he dates and when he feels that he's just up for a good old night on the town. He dates often, has many girl friends — none serious — just fun. His clothes typify his personality — relaxed, casual and bright. He eats like a work-horse and never gains a pound, drinks tons of milk and loves, loves, loves steak.
When the Cowsills recently visited Bob's twin Dick who was on rest and recreation from the Army in Hawaii, Bob and Dick went out every night, earned how to do the hula, and caught up on a lot of "twin-talk." Bob is a good conversationalist, loves intelligent people who can "stimulate his mind," and is an honor student in college. He says he wants to be a math teacher — whether or not that will come to be remains to be seen, but I have a sneaking suspicion that he just might remain in the music business for a long time to come.
Future plans call for Bob Cowsill to stay at the helm as chief writer-producer for his family. He has already proven that he's ready and he's certainly turned out some winning material. He goes to Hollywood Professional Junior College in Los Angeles and majors in math. He is interested in flying and is presently taking flying lessons for a license to pilot his own plane one day.
One thing I can say in closing about Bobby is that no matter where he is or what he's doing, he makes the people around him forget about their little everyday problems and laugh — and that is the most wonderful thing anybody can do for their friends.
