Well, Boston did them one better Saturday night, bringing back The Cowsills, a ‘60s family pop group that was the inspiration for The Partridge Family. The last note of the Cowsills rendition of the “The Star Spangled Banner”—a glassy-eyed acoustic guitar version that prompted one fan to observe the group was still stoned from the ‘60s—launched immediately into a revival of their 1969 hit, “Hair.” The song was surreal in that setting, especially with a full dress military honor guard standing at attention in front of a Green Monster-sized American flag.
