(Ed note: There is just a slight mention of The Cowsills in this article. The reason I am posting to to include a little glimpe of what Professional Children's School in NYC that The Cowsills attended was like. A couple of other tidbits from the article included the teacher to pupil ratio being 1 to 11. Tuition - in 1973 - was $1750.)
. . .
Actually, Professional Children's School is a seven-story building near New York's cultural arts complex, Lincoln Center. While the high school lives on the fifth, sixth, and seventh floors, other levels are housing the primary and middle grades, one through eight, offices and those necessities, a cafeteria and an auditorium.
. . .
Now, 213 children of the footlights fill the halls, and, of those 126 are high school students. When they graduate, they will be added to an impressive list of alumni, including Mr. Television Milton Berle, actor Elliot Gould, opera star Beverly Sills, Lesley Uggams, Peggy Lipton of TV's "Mod Squad," The Cowsills singing group, Judy Garland's daughter Lorna Luft, and the list goes on.
