Cowsills

HOW WOULD YOU like to write a personal letter to your fav Cowsill (or maybe you love them all!) and know that whoever you write to not only reads your letter - but answers it! Well, your wish is coming true! Beginning right here and right now, the Cowsills answer your letters! If your letter (and the Cowsills' answer) isn't on this page - get out your trusty pen and paper and write to the following address, and then look for your letter and the Cowsills' personal answer each and every month in 16 Magazine:

Cowsills Personal Letters

Dear Mrs. Cowsill,
I'm writing to you cos I figured you could best answer my questions. What are the exact birthdates of your children? Also, every time I read how tall Bob, Paul, John, Barry and Susan are - their heights seem to constantly change. Are these mistakes - or what?
Rita Faulkner
Indianapolis, Ind.

Dear Rita, In the order of their ages, my children birthdays are as follows: Bill (January 9, 1948); my twins, Bob and Dick (August 26, 1949); Paul (November 11, 1951); Barry (September 14, 1954); John (March 2, 1956); and Susan (May 20, 1959).
The second part of your letter is a bit difficult to answer. You see, their heights are constantly changing because my children - particularly Barry, John and Susan - are constantly growing! At last count, they measrued in this way: Bob stands five feet and eleven inches tall; Paul is a tall six feet and two inches; Barry is five feet and six inches tall; John towers over me at five feet and ten inches tall; and by the time you read this - Susan will probably have just reached five feet!
Love,
Barbara

Dear John,
I have an album called The Cowsills Plus The (Note: This was an error in 16. Should have been Lincoln.) London Park Zoo, but I'm very confused. First off, I thought the Cowsills recorded for MGM Records - and this LP is on the Mercury label. Also I can't recognize the voices - so please tell me who sings lead on the song entitled Siamese Cat.
Sharon Larson
Emerson, N.J.

Dear Sharon,
I can understnad why you're confused. The LP you're referring to is very old and we recorded and released it before we signed to MGM Records and before our voices changed. Barry and I sang lead on Siamese Cat, but don't feel bad - we didn't recognize our voices, either!
Till next time,
John

Dear Barry,
I'm a big fan of the Cowsills and I was wondering if you know for sure when you and your fabulous family will have your own TV show. I sure hope it's soon, cos to me and my friends - the Cowsills are number one!
Laura Kimball
Dallas, Texas

Dear Laura,
Thanks for saying so many nice things. We Cowsills will not have our own TV shows next season, but we will probably have some good news for you before too long. You can bet that the minute we have all the details - you'll be the first to know! Stay tuned to 16 and 16 SPEC for future news about us and our TV show!
Lots of love,
Barry

Dear Paul,
I read in 16 Magazine that the Cowsills sing the theme song on ABC-TV's Love American Style. Is this song available to the public? If so, where can I get a copy and make my Cowsills record collection complete?
Bonnie Finley
Laguna Beach, Calif.

Dear Bonnie,
We recorded Love American Style and released it several months ago as the flip side of our MGM single Silver Threads And Golden Needles. It's probably available at - or can be ordered from - your local record store. However, since I just happened to have an extra copy - I mailed it to you!
Thanks for writing,
Paul

Dear Susan,
I've read in 16 nd 16 SPEC about the kind of girls your brothers like, but I've never heard what kind of boys you like. Would you please describe your dream boy to me?!
Janet Corcoran
Lansing Michigan

Dear Janet,
I'd be happy to tell you all about "my perfect boy"! Like most girls, I like boys who are thoughtful and fun to be with. I also think it's important for a boy to be just a little bit bossy as well as talkative - but not as talkative as me, coz I sometimes talk too much! I love music, dancing and sports, so naturally I'd want my "dream boy" to share my interests. But most important of all - he should be honest. For instance, if he says he loves me - he has to mean it!
Luv,
Susan

Dear Bob,
I just bought the Cowsills' new MGM LP Two By Two, and I think it's great! I also think you sing lead on the tune The Prophecy of Daniel and John The Divine, but I'm not sure who does the speaking part on that song. Can you set me straight?
Carol Wrobel
Pittsburgh, Pa.

Dear Carol,
I'm happy to hear that you like our album so much. You're right - that is me singing the lead on Prophecy. And in answer to your question - Barry is the Cowsill who does the speaking part!
Peace,
Bob

Dear Barbara,
I hope you don't mind me calling you Barbara instead of "Mrs. Cowsill" but I feel as though I know you and your wonderful family - even though we're never met personally. In fact, I'm writing to you cos I'd love the opportunity to really and truly meet all of you - so please come here for an "in person" concert soon! I know you'd have a big audience, cos everyone here in Albany love the Cowsills!
Cathy Tomkins
Albany, N.Y.
