Now we've all heard of "supergroups". Well, here is yet another one, but one which has two shining differences; they're quite good and you'll want to hear more from them.
The band consists of Peter Holsapple (REM, dB's), Vicki Peterson (Bangels), Mike Walton (Dream Syndicate, Steve Wynn, Giant Sand), Carlo Nuccio (Subdudes, Tori Amos) and Susan Cowsill (The Cowsills and now the wife of Holsapple), does a swell job in complementing each other. This is not a band where one member is trying to steal the spotlight. They are smarter than that, they all share it. The sound, a mix of country, blues and rock is fused together in an appealing way. There are originals as well as covers on this debut disc. "Mixed Emotions" from Vicki Peterson and the Graham Parsons "A Song For You" sung by Holsapple are just such examples of each. This album has all the elements to make it an non trendy, yet good album.
