Gimme a head with hair . . . long beautiful hair. Counterculturalists, stage performers, and the Cowsills sang that refrain in the late Sixties and throughout the Seventies. If you were a young American back then, you went “natural” and let it all hang out – your hair and your attitude (at times you’d also do that with certain body parts, but we’ll save Streaking for a future RetroFad column). And thus was coiffed one of the coolest, kinkiest fashion fads,: the Afro.
