The Cowsills In Magazines

Come Along To A Cowsill Rehearsal!

When you go to a concert, do you ever wonder about the hours and hours of rehearsals the group must put in before they can stage the exciting show you're watching?

Many groups look at all the careful rehearsing they do as kind of a painful necessity, but the Cowsills really seem to enjoy it. When Bob Cowsill says, "Let's rehearse," nobody gives him an argument, or even a groan. They just put down what they are doing and troup off to their rehearsal room.

The place where the Cowsills rehearse is actually a little house on the grounds of their Santa Monica home. At one time it was probably used as a guest house or servants quarters, but now it enables the Cowsills to get together for a session without disturbing whoever else is at home - or the neighbors!

All their instruments and amplifiers are already set up. As the other kids settle down at their places, Paul warms up at the organ with a few bars of Joe Cocker's "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window."

When everyone is set, the rehearsal begins with the Cowsills' beautiful rendition of "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," with Bob singing lead. They follow this with their enthusiastic new hit, "2x2." And then, just for fun, Barry does his famous impression of Mick Jagger as the group swings into "Honky Tonk Woman."

With such great music to play, it's no wonder the Cowsills like to rehearse. And, oh yes, there's another reason, too.

They know that the more they practice, the better their show will be when you go to see them!
