Stogel Enters 3rd Big Year
and his wife and associate,
Myrna, are approaching their
third big year in businesswhich
from all indications,
promises to be the biggest year
ever for Leonard Stogel Associates.
From August, 1965, in a one -
room office in their East Side
apartment, with one main client-
Sam the Sham and the
Pharaohs-they have moved to
their suite of offices at 888 8th
Ave. This address also is the home
of Stogel's sibling companies: 1)
Lauren Music; 2) Akbestal
Music, a publishing company
responsible just this year for
"The Rain, the Park and Other
Things" the Cowsills, "Making
Every Minute Count," Spanky
and Our Gang, "I'm So Proud,"
Keith, "Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin
Pie," Jay and the Techniques,
"Banned in Boston,"
Sam the Sham, and "Ordinary
Boy," the Darling Sisters; 3)
Gregg Yale Productions, the
production company in association
with MGM Records on
the production of the Cowsills
and other acts designated by
Associates,
Ltd.; and 4) Heroic Age Publicity,
Inc.
Aside from the smash Cow -
sills, whom Stogel brought to
MGM, his other acts include
Tommy James and the Shondells,
Keith, Sam the Sham
Revue, Royal Guardsmen, Jim
and Jean and MGM'S new darling
Sisters, the follow-up to
the Cowsills on the Gregg Yale
label, all doing well.
A European tour is planned
for Tommy James and the
Shondells for February -March.
Sam the Sham is working three
nights a week, and Keith is
kept busy with tours sponsored
by Mercury.
