Cowsills Merchandising Planning by ILAMI
NEW YORK-Leonard Stogel,
personal manager of the
Cowsills, announced that he has
retained ILAMI, the international
merchandising division
of Screen Gems, to merchandise
and license the group.
ILAMI is planning special
Cowsill products: bubble gum,
sweatshirts, surfboards, puppets,
dolls, etc., just to name a
few. ILAMI will work with
Heroic Age Publicity, Inc., the
Cowsills pr firm, on the licensing
of special one-shot issues
for fan publications, columns
written by the Cowsills themselves
and other public relations
programs involving the
necessity of special licensing
by Screen Gems.

MGM Air Spots

Sales reaction was immediate.
Metro Distributors, the
label's New York outlet, reported
a marked climb in sales
of product by Janis Ian (prior
to her national breakout),
Richie Havens, Tim Hardin,
the Mothers of Invention, the
James Cotton Blues Band and
many others. Many more artists
have been added since
those initial spots were made;
among them, the Cowsills, the
Paupers, the Lotus Palace and
Johnny Tillotson.

Darling Release
NEW YORK - Gregg Yale
Productions, the production
company in partnership with
MGM Records in the production
of the Cowsills and other acts
designated by Leonard Stogel
& Associates, has set the date
for its second major release by
the Darling Sisters at Nov. 14.
"Ordinary Boy," a tune written
and recorded by Darlene
and Darla, the Darling Sisters,
will be the follow-up to the
Cowsills for Gregg Yale.
