Cap Pacts Kornfeld For Independent A & R

NEW YORK - Artie Kornfeld, 26 -year -old writer and producer of Cowsills fame, has been signed to a long-term, exclusive contract by Capitol Records as Director of Contemporary Recording. Announcement was made last week by CRI President Stanley M. Gortikov.

Jimmy Wisner has joined Columbia Records as a Producer, Popular A and R, announces Jack Gold, VP, Columbia Records Artists and Repertoire.

Wisner comes to Columbia with nearly 12 years' experience as one of the industry's top independent arranger / producer / writers. Three top singles featuring Wisner's arrangements have earned gold records for million -dollar sales: "1-2-3" by Len Barry, "Rain, the Park and Other Things" by the Cowsills and "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tommy James.
