The Cowsills, MGM's hit recording
family, have announced
the addition of another member
of the performing group.
Sixteen-year-old Paul Cowsill, who previously worked as
equipment manager for the act,
will now appear on stage, singing
and playing trumpet. Paul
made his performing debut
when the Cowsills recently
toured Italy. Bill Cowsill, lead
singer and guitarist, had to return
to New York and his college
classes before the end of
the European visit, so Paul was
drafted to fill for him. Now,
there is a total of seven members
of the Cowsill family who
appear on stage.
The Cowsills were scheduled
to start and finish with NBC
television programming on
Monday, Feb. 26. In the morning
they were honored with a
special one -hour segment on
"The Today Show" with Hugh
Downs. Then they closed the
NBC day with an appearance
on Monday's "Tonight" as
well!
During those programs, Paul
did not appear as part of the
group. His network television
debut will be April 21, when
the Cowsills are scheduled for
their third appearance on "the
Ed Sullivan Show."
