Old yet new is The Cocaine Drain (Omnivore) by one-time poppy vocal family collective THE COWSILLS - even though this was recorded in 1978 this is its first official release. A country-rocking set, it was produced by Chuck Plotkin but things went awry when he left to work with Bruce Springsteen (including Born In The USA) and the tapes were lost. Easy-going with soulful vocals from teenage Susan Cowsill, plentiful harmonies ... and five bonus tracks. And in perhaps the ultimate cross-border rocking, then youthful drummer John Cowsill who has since spent time with the Beach Boys, is now in former Only Ones' main man Peter Perrett's band in London.
