Partridge Family Bus, The Partridge Family
Hello word, here’s a song that we’re singin’, c’mon get happy! Inspired and loosely based on a real family named the Cowsills, a family pop music group famous in the late 1960s, the Partridge family was made up of five musical siblings and a widowed mother. They toured around the United States in a 1957 Chevrolet Series 6800 Superior, painted with Piet Mondria—inspired patterns. While it rocketed the family to stardom, the bus saw no special treatment, finally resting its wheels in a Los Angeles junkyard in 1987. Nickelodeon featured a run of the show in its Nick at Nite lineup from 1993 to 1994, creating a new version of the bus for promotional purposes.
