Cowsill'
Personal
Letters

ONCE AGAIN - right here in 16 - the Cowsills personally answer your questions!

Dear John,
You are my very favorite star and I think I've read everything even written about you. There's one thing I don't remember reading, though. Would you tell me what grade you are in? Also, could you tell me what grades your brothers and sister are in?
Mindy Ferone
Philadelphia, Pa.

Dear Mindy, Thanks for you nice letter. I'd be happy to answer your questions. Right now, it's summer vacation (hooray!), so I'm out of school. But come September - I'll be in the ninth grade, which means I'll finally be a freshman in high school! Barry is going into the eleventh grade; Susan will be in the sixth grade; Paul just graduated from high school; and Bob recently completed his junior year of college.
Love always,
John

Dear Susan,
I'm a little confused! I know your birthday was May 20th, but I'm not sure if you became eleven or 12 years old. Please tell me how old you are - and happy belated birthday.
Lynn Goodman
Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Lynn,
I wish I was 12 years old, but since I was born in 1959 - I'm only eleven! Thanks for writing - and next time be sure to tell me how old you are! O.K.?
Luv,
Sue

Dear Barry,
My friends and I really love the Cowsills and we want very much to join your fan club, but we don't know the correct address or how to go about it. Would you please set us straight?
Janet McLaughlin
Gary, Indiana

Dear Janet,
I really feel honored that you and your friends want to join our fan club. Write to Cowsills Fan Club, 9255 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90069 - and you'll receive all the information. Be sure to include your full name and complete address.
Lots of love,
Barry

Dear Mrs. Cowsill,
My best friend told me that she heard the Cowsills will have a television show next season called The Partridge Family. I think it sounds too good to be true, so I thought I'd check it out with you before believing it. What's the story?
Melissa Jones
Atlanta, Ga.

Dear Melissa,
We Cowsills will not have our own TV show next season, but there is a new show called The Partridge Family which will be on each and every week. We saw a sneak preview of The Partridge Family and the show is very much like the real-life experiences of the Cowsills. Maybe that's what your friends heard! Whether or not the similarity was intended really doesn't matter. If it was based in part on "the Cowsill Family" - we are very flattered and feel it's a great compliment to have a model of our life story on TV!
Thanks for writing,
Barbara

Dear Paul,
I recently bought the Cowsills' new MGM LP entitled II By II and I wanted to let you know it's absolutely fantastic! I'm not sure who is singing lead on some of the songs, so could you please let me know?
Michele Tanner
Denver, Colorado

Dear Michele,
Your wish is my command! Here's a list of the songs on II By II and the name of the lead singer on each tune.

Dear Bob,
I just had to write to you because I'm very upset and you are the only one that can answer my question. I know you recently got married and I'm very happy for you and your new wife. However, my girl friend told me now that you are married - you are going to quit the Cowsills. Please tell me this isn't true cos we Cowsill fans would sure miss you!
Stephanie West
St. Paul, Minn.

Dear Stephanie,
Don't worry - I am not going to leave the group just because I'm married. One thing has nothing to do with the other. We Cowsills love entertaining you and we will continue performing for as long as you want us to! Nanci and I took two weeks off for a honeymoon right after our wedding on June 6th, but by the time you read this - I'll be back on the road with the rest of the Cowsills doing shows for you!
See you soon,
Bob

Dear Bob,
I'm writing to congratulate you on your recent marriage and to wish you and your new bride all the happiness in the world! I'm anxious to see a picture of Nanci, so please ask 16 to print one!
Jeanne Sullivan
Sioux City, Iowa

Dear Jeanne,
Thanks for your good wishes! Here's a picture of Nanci and me that was taken a couple of weeks before our wedding!
Love and peace,
Bob
