. . . There were too many names appearing in the coliseum and in front the grandstand to call any of them the headliner. Ed Ames, Rowen and Martin, The Cowsills, Nancy Sinatra, Andy Williams, Henry Mancini, and Diana Ross and The Supremes were
amoung the many famous entertainers.

The Cowsills
One popular family-type group performing at the Fair this year were the Cowsills, and they also will be coming here to Purdue the weekend of Homecoming. Freckles, laughter, big brown eyes, a mini-mommy, and a lot of talent sums up the Cowsills in a great big way. One son says something, they all laugh, joke, and then
take off into a world of their own. They enjoy being together, working hard, and staying united as a family. This is a Cowsill.

The Cowsill herd ranges as follows: A Bill, Bob, Barry and John Cowsillcomprising the majority of the group. Their mother, Barbara Cowsill, daughter Susan, and road managers Dick and Paul Cowsill also blend in whenever needed. Mr. Cowsill seems contented to sit back and manage the conglomeration. And, believe it or not, their last name is honestly Cowsill.
The group has a twenty-three room mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, and often escapes back home for peace and quiet. They are a family which still believes in love, relaxing, and just plain "horseplay."
The interior of the house fits the outside. Barbara, the mother explains, "It took most of our money for equipment; amplifiers, sound systems and instruments. When it comes to furniture, we economize."
The Cowsills know how to economize. Not so very long ago, the house was mortgaged and they were about to foreclose. Desperately, the family came to New York, looking for employment. Finding a unique manager Lenny Stogel, they became what they are today.
Be sure to get your V 2 tickets for the Cowsills today and appreciate them yourself. If you're lucky, you'll even meet one.
