I really don't keep a date book. That is, I don't write things down in a little black book. I'd never have the patience to sit myself down long enough to do that. But I still keep a record of my special dates. You see, I make a mental note of my most enjoyable evenings, all the lovely girls I meet, and the qualities that make them extra special to me. My memory is my secret date book - and here are a few of the entries I have filed away there.
As you probably know by now, I love sports - playing as well as watching. When I meet a girl who shares my enthusiasm for football and baseball - I really dig taking her to a game. I can remember many groovy evenings I've spent with a girl - rooting for our favorite team!
I also enjoy going to parties and proms, particularly if I know most of the people who are there. In fact, knowing and liking the other guests is what really made me have so much fun on these type of dates.
I very rarely plan what to do or where to go on a date, and usually decided after I've picked the girl up. Actually, I prefer casual-type dates anyway, and believe it or not - some of my most enjoyable dates have been spent doing simple things like strolling through a park hand-in-hand or just going for a long drive in my car. That may not sound too exciting, but it's definitely very romantic!
I've had some fantastic times when I took a girl to an amusement park, or we decided to spend an entire day at Disneyland. However, a few times when my date and I did feel like getting dressed up - we went out to dinner and later on - we made the rounds of all the Hollywood discotheques. I dig music and dancing, so these kind of dates are groovy too. Occasionally, I even like to go to a play or catch a movie, but most of the time the nicest dates are when I can really get to know the girl I'm with.
My all-time favorite kind of date is taking a girl to Santa Monica Beach. I love to walk along the shore, swimming and just sitting on the sand, taking in the beautiful sights around us. The beach is unreal! I think I could go there every day and never tire of it! I can't explain how breathtaking it is and how much fun you can have at Santa Monica Beach. You just have to see it for yourself - so I'll have to take you there with me someday. O.K.?
As you can see, my secret date book includes all different types of dates. I guess that's because I firmly believe that the important thing about having a good time is not really where you go or what you do. It's who you are with! I can remember many evenings when I had a great time just sitting around with a group of friends. Even though we didn't do anything super-exciting, we enjoyed each other's company so much the night was special. I'll bet a date with you would be special too !!
