B. B. King Blues Club & Grill
July 28: Once upon a time, after the Beatles hit it big, four teen-age brothers were inspired to form a rock-and-roll band. They called it the Cowsills (their family name) and made a little noise in and around Newport, Rhode Island. Their mother, little brothef, and little sister joined the group at the command of their tyrannical father/manager, and they scored a national small with "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things," in 1967. They became the inspiration for "The Partridge Family," which seriously damaged their credibility. Two of the founding members have died, but there are still four Cowsills in the band. Expect Stones covers, along with "Hair" and "Indian Lake."
