My girl friends and I recently saw the Cowsills in person.
We met them backstage, and boy! - was it exciting!
My friend Norma gave John a birthday cake and I gave Bob
a Valentine card I made. Ramona, my other girl friend,

If you're a real Cowsill-lover (and who isn't?), your heart probably did flip-flops as you read Lois' sweet letter and you probably thought, "Gee, I wish it were me and my friends who were lucky enough to meet the Cowsills!" There's no doubt about it - Lois and her friends certainly were lucky girls, cos they sure did get to meet and spend time with those ever-lovin' Cowsills - but guess what? Lots of other fans all over America have also met Susan, John, Barry, Paul, Bob, Barbara and Bud, and even better than that - you can too!!
As you know, the Cowsills do a lot of traveling. They're almost always on the road - making "in-person" appearances from coast to coast. And that's just how you can meet them - without even leaving your home town! All you have to know is where they are going to be - and when they are going to be there!
Whenever possible, the Cowsills arrive in a city the day before the date of their concert appearance. If there's a Holiday Inn in your town - chances are that's where the Cowsills will be staying. However, don't fret if there's no Holiday Inn - just check the best hotel near the concert hall where the Cowsills will be appearing or the best hotel closest to the airport. The Cowsill gang is bound to be at one of these places!
The Cowsills usually spend the day touring the town, so don't be surprised if you bump into John and Barry at your neighborhood hang-out - or run into Bob and Paul at the shopping center! You may even be luck enough to meet the whole family - cos they usually wander around town together. And they'll probably be walking - so you'll be sure not to miss seeing them!
Since they don't work in the evening - cos it's the day before their show - you can usually find the Cowsill clan at your local bowling alley (they always try to find one in town); at your local movie house (they like to see all the popular flicks); or at the most famous music-type club in town - especially if there's a good group or artist appearing there!
THE BIG DAY
They day of the show, the Cowsills get up bright and early, so they can take care of business. That means they are bound to visit your local radio stations, or make appearances on one or all of your local TV shows. Be sure to find out where these places are and check to see when the Cowsills are scheduled to appear. The smart thing to do is check these things out a couple of weeks before the Cowsills are due in your home town and (if necessary) get tickets so that you will have a reserved seat in the audience!
Since this is the day of the Cowsills' live show - they don't have very much spare time. They almost always arrive at the place of their live concert three hours before show-time, so they can rehearse, allow time for interviews, and yes - meet some of their fans! After their show (or shows), the Cowsills always go out to eat - in the most popular restaurant in town. After dinner, you can usually find them at the hotel - taking a swim in the hotel pool before retiring for the night.
As you can see, there are many opportunities for you to meet and get to know the Cowsills. The thing to remember is - the Cowsills really do want to meet you! In fact, the Cowsills literally go out of their way to say "hello" to their fans. That's because to a Cowsill, a "fan" is a "friend" - a very special kind of friend!
