The Cowsills In Magazines

MODEL for TV's The Par-tridge Family, the Cowsiils, ruled the late '60s pop charts with sugar-coated hits like "Hair" and "Love American Style." PolyGram's Razor & Tie label has reissued two CDs, and there's still a thriving Cowsiils fan club. Brother Bob and sister Susan updated us on their singing sibs:

Billy, 48: Lives in Vancouver, B.C. Plays in band, the Blue Shadows. Says Bob: "Billy's embraced country music." Bob, 46: "I still write songs," says the L.A. computer trainer and father of five. "[A reunion] will happen. Some bands are timeless." Paul, 44: Lives with wife in Mexico. "Paul went there to get away from it all," says Bob. "Basically he watches the ocean." Barry, 41: Believed to live in New Orleans; occasionally plays guitar. "He prefers to remain nameless," says Susan. "He got fried by people asking about the Cowsiils." John, 39: Lives in California; played for surfer duo Jan & Dean. Says Susan: "He's the consummate casual gig-sessions drummer." Susan, 36: Married to guitarist and Hootie & the Blowfish sideman Peter Holsapple; lives in New Orleans; plays in roots-rock band The Continental Drifters.
