SEPTEMBER 11
BOSTON, MASS

At 7:00 a.m. John and Sue Cowsill were so excited about the tour they kept asking: "When do we start? When do we start?"

At 11 a.m. there was a ceremony at Town Hall, Newport, R.I. with May Shay officiating, and the entire town turned out to bid The Cowsills farewell.

The "Where It's At" Club in Boston was the scene of our first reception and you could say it was a success! 400 members of the press, D.J.s and other members of the music industry were on hand to hear The Cowsills.

SEPTEMBER 12
HARTFORD, CONN.

In the afternoon, before the performance, the boys all took a dip in the pool and had a ball dunking little Susan under.

That night, we all ate together in the main dining room which the Hilton had reserved specially for us.

SEPTEMBER 13
PHILADELPHIA, PA.

This was the most rugged day so far. We were up a 4:30 a.m. to leave for Philly. We managed to stagger on the bus at 5:00 a.m., only to fall right to sleep again. We always have a mad dash for the four cots which MGM had installed on the bus for along hauls such as this.

SEPTEMBER 14
BALTIMORE, MD.

Barbara (Mrs. Cowsill) did a radio interview show for a women's program.

We read in the Philly papers this morning that the press considered Barbara to be a wonderful addition to the group.

SEPTEMBER 15
NORFOLK, VA.

After breakfast we set off on the five hour bus ride to Norfolk, Va. Our first stop was Portsmouth where we did a teen show taping.

On the way, a huge suitcase fell from the luggage rack and hit Bill on the shoulder. He was in extreme pain all the way to Norfolk, but recovered after some rest.

The reception at the Golden Triangle Hotel surpassed our highest hopes. We had been warned that the turn-out might be somewhat smaller than the other cities but, as it turned out, it was just as great for The Cowsills.

SEPTEMBER 16
NORFOLK, VA.

Today was our day off. We slept till noon.

Bob and Dick went to the Bowling Alley in Portsmouth and on the way home found a copy of GO with the story about The Cowsills in it. They were pounding at my door at midnight to tell me about it.

SEPTEMBER 17
NORFOLK, VA.

We Wanted to visit the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth but couldn't get clearance for Barry and John because they were too young.

We left at 3:00 p.m. for Charlotte, N.C., a six hour bus trip and we leave Charlotte right after the performance Monday evening and head for Atlanta, Ga.
