The Cowsills' Dream Girls July 1970 Teen Life Magazine

DEEP IN THE HEARTS of The Cowsills are some very special girls, girls they rarely talk about, girls they've kept hidden for a long time. These girls aren't glamorous or even especially beautiful, but each one has a certain something that sets her apart. And you can bet John, Bob, Paul or Barry will recognize her when he meets her ... because that's the day their dream girls will turn into real girls.

BOB COWSILL
Bob's dream girl will probably have long, silky hair and dress neatly in cool colors, like blue. But appearance isn't the most important thing about her. What really matters to Bob is her warm but quiet personality. Bob doesn't go for girls who are self-conscious and self-centered and want to have all the attention for themselves. He prefers a girl who likes to listen and is genuinely interested in others. It's easy for Bob to tell what a girl's really like because he notices everything about her, even the things she's not aware of - the way she sits and stands, her slightest gesters, the way her eyes light up when she's happy, for instance.
Bob's girl will love music and enjoy a quiet evening of playing Scrabble. And, of course, she'll share his passion for spaghetti and pizza.
Bob wants a girl who'll laugh at his jokes, listen to his poetry and take an interest in psychology and astrology. What sign should she be (Bob's a Leo)? Well, if she meets all these requirements, she's sure to be the right sign.

PAUL COWSILL
It's a rare girl who can keep up with fast-moving, super-energetic Paul Cowsill. She has to be ready to stay up all night talking or dancing, but she'll know that sometimes Paul needs to be completely by himself. During those more active moments, though, Paul's dream girl always has something to say and loves to talk on the telephone for hours.
Like Paul, his girl will dig wild clothes and cars. She'll dress in things that are vivid and eye-catching. She'll also be a girl who really loves sports - if possible, as much as he does. And she'll have an interest in math and science.
Paul's girl will have to enjoy Chinese food and unusual dishes, too. And when he comes to her house to take her out, she'd better by on time, because Paul can't wait to get going.

BARRY COWSILL
Barry Cowsill loves girls. "Girls who aren't too dippy, that is," he jokes. And girls really love him, too. So his special one has to be able to keep cool and not get jealous of all his admirers. Then, too, Barry needs a girl he can count on, one who'll always be around when he needs her, who can cheer him up when he's sad. She should be lively and out-going, but gentle, quiet and sympathetic.
Barry likes a girl with a good sense of humor, one who doesn't mind being teased. And she shouldn't be upset if he's late or forgets to call sometimes. It's not that he doesn't care about her or wants to hurt her - it's just that he doesn't have an outstanding sense of time.
Barry's girl should wear bright colors and should always look feminine, he wants a girl who likes being outdoors, going skin-diving and water-skiing. And she'd better be prepared to end up living in a cabin in the Rocky Mountains, raising bear cubs.
The girl of Barry's dreams will like dancing and Saturday morning cartoons. And she'll eat a lot of lobster because that's Barry's favorite dish.

JOHN COWSILL
John doesn't mind admitting that he likes "groovy-looking girls." His dream girl will probably remind him of his mother and she'll be wearing mini skirts.
John looks for a girl who's happy and friendly. She should be calm and relaxed, but like to stay up late and get up early. John's special girl won't expect to do something different every minute - she'll spend a lot of time just loafing around with him. And when they do go out, it might be to a horror movie.
John likes a girl with a good imagination, one who enjoys traveling and wants to see the world. His dream girl should also be a lover of animals, especially hamsters. And, of course, a lover of him!
