In order to meet the Cowsills, all you have to know is where they will be - and when they will be there! To help you with your campaign to meet your fav Cowsill (or maybe you love them all!) - here is an up-to-date Cowsill Calendar plus a personal guide-list of the Cowsills Favorite hang-outs!!
June
The Cowsills will spend the first three weeks of June in California, taking a well-deserved vacation and making plans for Bob Cowsill's wedding - which is set for June 27th. When they are at home in California, the Cowsills can usually be found at one of the following places:
Santa Monica Beach - This beach is just a few minutes' drive from the Cowsills' home and there's always a Cowsill or two there - taking in the sun and enjoying the ocean.
Los Angeles Zoo - All of the Cowsills love to spend an afternoon roaming around the zoo.
Disneyland - This fun-filled amusement park is located in Anaheim, California (about an hour's drive from the Cowsills' home). It's one of their all-time favorite places - and there's so much to see and do at Disneyland that the Cowsills usually spend the entire day here.
Lenny's Boot Parlor - Located at 1448 North Gower - right off Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. This is where the Cowsills have their stage outfits made, but they also buy a lot of their everyday clothes at Lenny's too.
The Corral - Another clothing store where the Cowsill boys like to shop. This one is located in Santa Monica.
Martoni's - Located at 1523 Cahuenga - in Hollywood. This is the Cowsills' favorite Italian restaurant. They eat here at least once a week.
The Beach House - This is a music club located in Santa Monica (the Cowsill clan sure sticks close to home, doesn't it). The Cowsills visit this club very often, cos their favorite group - the Twice Nicely - appear here regularly. (By the way, the Cowsills go to see the Twice Nicely almost everywhere they play - that's how great they think this new group is!)
The Troubadour - Located at 9081 Santa Monica Boulevard. The entire family can be found here - sitting in the audience and watching the show!
United Recording Studio - This is the place where the Cowsills do most of their recording. Even though they are on vacation - you never can tell when they might get an idea for a new record!
July
The Cowsills will have time off during the first two weeks of July (while Bob is on his honeymoon!) and no doubt they will spend part of that time in New York City. Their favorite hang-outs in New York are:
Central Park - The boys organize football games and Susan goes along as cheerleader. They very often visit the Central Park Zoo too!
888 Eighth Avenue - The Cowsills used to live in this apartment building and they always visit friends who still live there. Hint: They usually meet in the corner soda shop!
Restaurants - The Cowsills are forever hunting for new and interesting places to eat, so they go to many different restaurants in New York. However, one of their favorite late-night spots is Reuben's - located on 58th Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues. (By the way, if you happen to be passing a pizza stand - take a good look, cos you may very well see a Cowsill or two munching away!)
Theater and Movies - One thing the Cowsills really dig is going to Broadway plays. They all love movies too - so chances are you can find them making the rounds of the theaters and movie houses whenever they're in New York!
Cowsills On Tour!
Don't worry if you don't live in California or New York City and therefore think you won't meet the Cowsills - cos here's some great news! On July 20th, the Cowsills will be back on the road again! They will begin a cross-country tour, making personal appearances in so many different cities - probably your home town too - that you'll have a great chance to meet them! The August issue of 16 (which goes on sale June 23rd) will include a complete Cowsill itinerary - so be sure to reserve your copy now!!
