Cowsills Set TV Show; Open New WC Offices
HOLLYWOOD-"A Family Thing," a half-hour special starring the Cowsills, has been set for a Nov. 23, 8:30 pm airing on NBC. The show, a series of situation skits involving different members of the family, is serving as the pilot for a potential fall TV series on the network. Buddy Ebsen is host for the show and appears throughout with prologs to the scenes, and also joins the family for several numbers.
The latest Cowsills MGM single features a solo by 12 year old John Cowsill, "Path Of Love," pulled from their "Captain Sad" set.
The family has just opened a West Coast publicity and TV production office in Los Angeles. Janis Murray, Cowsills' publicist for the past two years, and formerly associated with Heroic Age Publicity, will handle all press. TV production and related affairs pertaining to the Cowsills' special and future TV ventures will be handled by Bud Cowsill and David Ray, his associate.
