7Up Ties Ampex Unit Into Year-Long Promo
NEW YORK — “Canned Music at
Uncanny Prices” headlines the promotional
drive being instituted at <
7Up that will offer special discounts
to consumers on an Ampex portable
cassette unit and tapes.
In this cooperative venture, Ampex'
“Tune Tripper” portable player
and a half-dozen cassettes will be
made available at discount with
order blanks supplied on special
cartons of 7Up. The blanks and
special cartons will be offered
through regional promotion decisions
until the ena of December.
Bottlers offering the “Uncanny"
promo tie-in will carry out advertising
in their areas pointing up
the availability of “Tune Trippers"
at $15.95, discounted from the list
of $24.95. Six popular cassettes *
are being offered for $3.95 each,
or two for $7.70. These include performances
by Tom Jones. Creedence
Clearwater Revival, Led
Zeppelin, Mama Cass, the Cowsills,
Mantovani, etc.
