MGM records top selling group for the year 1968? The Cowsills! The band that had their mother Barbara in the band. When was the last time you heard of a musical group that had their mother in the band? (ed note: The Partridge Family was put together by the TV folks when the Cowsills refused to star in a series based upon their concept!) The Cowsills big hit was gthe theme song to the 1969 Broadway hit musical Hair. I think this freaks me out because it taps into my childhood.
