What is your full real name?
Barry Steven Cowsill
When and where were you born?
I was born at Newport Naval Hospital in Rhode Island on September 14, 1954 - which means that I'm thirteen years old.
What is your height, weight and coloring?
I am five feet and one inch tall and I weigh 105 pounds. My hair is brown and my eyes are hazel.
Where do you live?
Of course, my family information is the same as my brother John's. We are a very big, happy family and have great parents. The place we really call home is our 23-room "mansion" in Newport, R.I. We have six acres of land and it's the greatest place in the whole world!
What kind of car would you like to have?
A future car.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, we have a dog and his name is "Curly." He's half Dachshund and half Cocker Spaniel.
What was your first ambition?
My very first ambition was to be a scientist.
What kind of music do you like most?
I like symphony orchestra music best, but I also enjoy listening to the Beatles and Wayne Newton, and lots of others.
What do you do in your spare time?
When time allows, I enjoy reading, studying, playing the cello and going for walks - either alone, with a friend, or with "Curly".
Would you like to get married?
Why not?
What kind of girl would you like to marry?
A nice one - that's also the description of my dream girl!
How many children would you like to have?
Eight sounds like a nice even number to me!
What three tips would you give a girl who wanted you to like her?
She should have a nice personality; she should have a good sense of humor; and she should be talkative - but she shouldn't talk too much!
What type of girls do you usually dislike?
I don't like gigglers and I dislike snobby girls - or snobby boys, for that matter.
What would you do if you suddenly came into a million-dollar inheritance?
I'd donate it to a fund for under-privileged children (not joking - honest).
Of all the places you've been in America, which one would you like to go back to?
Miami. I loved the climate when we were there on tour.
What was the biggest thrill of your life?
My first airplane ride. It's a thrill to know we can fly!
Who has helped you most with your career?
My family - each and every one of them.
Who are your closest friends in and out of show business?
My closest friend is good old "Uncle Lenny" - he's not really a relative, that's his nickname. He's our manager.
Of all the other performers you've worked with, who do you admire most?
I really like the Four Seasons and the Rascals.
If you could take a vacation, where in the entire world would you go?
I think I'd like to visit Rome, Italy.
What do you like best about your work?
It's fun!
What do you dislike about your work?
Nothing - honest!
What kind of clothing do you like to wear when you're not performing?
I like carefree clothes, because I like to be comfortable.
What kind of clothes do you like to see girls wear?
Mini skirts - of course!
What is your most prized material possession?
My gold record for The Rain, The Park and Other Things.
When you give presents to a girl, what do you usually pick?
I usually choose rings, jewelry, perfume, etc
What are your favorite TV shows?
Lost In Space, Star Trek, and Mission Impossible.
How would you describe your own personality?
I have a good sense of humor (snicker, snicker).
Do you have a nickname? How did you get it?
Yes - "Bee". When I was younger, everyone called me "Bee Boy" and later shortened it to simply "Bee".
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you wish for?
I would wish for only one thing - a magic Genie lamp with ten thousand wishes in it.
What is the most serious problem you've had to solve?
A problem in arithmetic!
Where do you go to get away from it all?
I go off my myself and daydream.
What are you afraid of?
Seaweed - it feels horrible!
If you weren't in show business, what would you have done?
I would probably have taken up sports.
What do you like to do on a date?
It depends on my mood, but I often like to go for walks and just visit with friends.
What are your favorite colors, flowers, food?
My favorite color is red. I think daisies are the nicest flowers, and I enjoy all types of meat - particularly roast beef.
What advice would you give a young person who would like to make a career in show business?
Keep smiling!
What are your plans for the future?
Aside from show business, I'd really like to be a surgeon. I also want very much to someday get married, buy a home and raise a family.
