Each of these fab guys sees a girl in his dreams. Not the same girl. Each dream girl has very special qualities all her own. See how YOU compare with J & B's dream girls!
JOHN
I have a confession to make. It concerns me and you - and the reason I'm confiding it is that I feel it will help you to know and understand me better - and vice versa!
You see, up until a few months ago I was sort of confused by girls! I hate to admit it, but you frightened me - and I couldn't understand why! Whenever a girl approached me and asked for my autograph or started to talk to me, all of a sudden I was at a loss for words! I even blushed a little (but I would stand there hoping no one noticed - particularly my brothers, who would tease me about it later on). I don't know what it was that made me so shy. Me, John Patrick Cowsill - a jumpin' jack who normally has to be told to be quiet and sit still - became a quivering statue in the present of a girl! Here I was - able to go out on a stage and sing and play my drums in front of thousands of people, - yet pulverized by self-consciousness in the presence of even one girl! It was a really weird feeling, and I can't explain it. Actually, I wanted to talk to each and every girl. They were all nice and friendly. But something deep down inside me made me panic!
GIRL WATCHING
Then suddenly everything changed! It happened just about the time I celebrated my 13th birthday. I really began to notice girls, and I began to enjoy their company more than ever. When they were around, I found myself wandering toward them. No longer was a football game the most important thing on my mind. I discovered a new sport - girl watching! And I've learned a lot from each and every one of you. For instance, all girls are different - yet each one is fascinating in her own way. I've always believed that personality is much more important than looks. But you know what - all girls are attractive!
MY DREAM GIRL
It is impossible for me to describe what my dream girl looks like. When you really think about it, looks don't matter all that much. I like blondes, brownettes, brunettes, and redheads! However, I can tell you the kind of girl who is best suited to me. First of all, she has a good sense of humor and she is able to take a joke. (I can be a terrible tease, so my dream girl would have to understand that I mean it all in fun.) She is sensitive to my moods, and she knows when something is bothering me and when I want to be left alone. In other words, she truly understands me! But most important, she appeals to me because she is herself - her own honest, natural self. She is real.
That is how I see, in my dreams, the girl who is truly meant for me. It isn't hard for a girl to have all those qualities: humor, sensitivity, understanding, honest and naturalness. Aren't you exactly that kind of girl?
BARRY
Psst! - I'm about to reveal my best-kept life-time secret! I love girls - all girls! I always have and I always will! Now, don't misunderstand me. I don't mean that I'm a Casanova or a Don Juan, out to make every female fall madly in love with me! It's just that I've never met a girl whom I didn't like - and I truly enjoy being with, talking to and meeting girls!
But believe it or not, I'm not fickle. I don't "love 'em and leave 'em." When I care for someone, she (or he) becomes very dear to me - I have room in my heart for many loves. Maybe that's because of my age. I'll be 15 on September 14th. I'm old enough to fall in love (or think that I'm in love, anyway), but I'm still too young to go steady with just one girl.
THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE
I realize that some day this will all change. I'll meet that special someone who will be the girl for me. We'll fall in love (for real, this time) and we'll marry. But again, I'm much too young to plan a wedding right now. After all, marriage is the most important step in a person's life. For the present (and for quite s few years to come!), I'll be looking for my very special girl!
THE DATING GAME
The way I figure, the more girls I meet and date, the better I'll know the kind of girl who's best for me - and vice versa. You see, to me her happiness is just as important as mine! I've just recently begun to date. My favorite kind of dates are casual things - like visiting friends or inviting a girl to our house for a swimming party and a barbecue. Sometimes I enjoy going to the beach or to a good movie. And when I'm in a quiet mood, I like listening to records, watching TV, or just sitting and talking. After all, the more time you spend together talking - the more you really get to know each other.
The kind of girls I like to date have one thing in common - their personalities. They all are fun-loving, friendly and easy to get along with. In fact, the only girls I don't like are snobby ones who put on airs. If they only knew how much more attractive they could be by just being themselves! But I'm sure that we all have a lot to learn - and time is the best teacher. Right now, I'm having the time of my life learning all about girls!
