The very first record the Cowsills ever release was a song entitled All I Ever Really Want To Be Is Me on the Joda label.

Of all the singles the Cowsills have made, Hair gets the vote as their personal favorite.

By the time you read this, the Cowsills may be on a new record label! Stay tuned to 16 and 16 SPEC for further details!

Right now, the Cowsills are recording a brand new LP.

Bob and Barry wrote most of the songs for their new LP.

Other plans for the album include letting each Cowsill sing lead on the kind of song he or she likes best.

The Cowsills also want to record a song acappella (that's without instrumental accompaniment). With their fantastic voices - it's sure to be one of the most beautiful sounds you ever heard!

All of the Cowsills are completely adjusted to California and honestly admit that, in most ways, they like living there better than living in Rhode Island!

However, they do keep in touch with their long-time Rhode Island friends and even visit them when they have the opportunity.

The Cowsill clan used to love cold weather, but now they can't stand it. "If the temperature drops below 40 degrees - we all freeze, " says Bob.

In the winter, to fight the cold, the boys wear long underwear on tour!

In spite of disliking cold weather, the Cowsills sometimes miss the great snowball fights they used to have in Newport.

Susan was the "official snowball packer." She got the supply ready and the boys threw them!

All of the Cowsills wash their hair every day now. That's why their hair looks so beautiful and shiney. They're going to keep their hair long - but trimmed (not super-long).

They use Johnson's Baby Shampoo to wash their hair.

All of the guys tease Susan, but they're very protective of her too. If anyone tries to hurt the boy's little sister, they'd better beware - they'll have her BIG brothers to answer to!

Although the Cowsills sometimes have to dress alike for TV shows, they prefer wearing individual outfits they choose themselves.

When the Cowsills lived in New York City, their home address was 888 Eighth Avenue.

They had two apartments in the building - Bill and Bob shared one and the rest of the family lived in the larger one.

Their manager's office was also located in that building.

The Cowsills always visit friends in that New York apartment house when they are in the city.

A favorite hang-out of the Cowsill kids is the coffee shop in their old New York apartment building.

One of the Cowsills' favorite New York restaurants is Reubens on East 58th Street.

They love Reubens' yummy apple pancakes!

When they are in New York City, Bob, Paul, Barry and John like to play touch football in Central Park and usually organize a game there.

Susan is either the "official water girl" or "cheerleader." If you're in New York City the same time they are, stroll over to Central Park and join Susan in some cheers. They'll be glad to see you!

Barry and John like to go to Broadway shows and movies when they are in New York City.

Sue sometimes joins them, but usually she visits friends instead.

The Cowsills have a tremendous respect for other entertainers.

They even enjoy watching other performances rehearse.

Two widely circulated "rumors" have Barbara Cowsill still laughing! The first one is that she's expecting another child (NOT TRUE) and the other is that all of the Cowsill children are adopted. As Barbara explains, "Just look at all of our faces. We look so much alike - how could anyone believe we're not really related?!"

Many fans who wrote to the Cowsills have not received a reply because of an unfortunate incident - a janitor accidentally threw away several boxes of letters!

You can now write to the Cowsill at 9255 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90069.

You will receive an answer!

Very often the Cowsills take time out to personally answer their fan mail in longhand!

They've also been known to telephone fans in all parts of the country - "just to say hello, answer questions and let them know we really care."

Did ya know that part of the Cowsills' stage show is devoted to answering questions from the audience?

When they come to your home town - go to their show and you'll not only be treated to a sensational performance, you can ask your fav Cowsill a question!

By the way, the Cowsills report that the most often-asked questions so far have been:
How tall is John now? (He's five feet and eleven inches tall - and still growing!) and -
What is your home address? (That's something that's usually kept a secret, but Bob has answered the question from the stage. Now, some fans actually have the Cowsills' home address!)

Sue's Secrets
Sue Cowsill prefers to be called "Sue." She doesn't mind the same "Susan" too much, but "Susie" is a definitely a no-no. "It's too babyish," she explains.

Although Davy Jones is still one of Sue's favorite entertainers, she's completely over her crush on him.

Sue feels that she must have a weakness for British boys, cos it seems she always gets a crush on an English guy - even before she hears his accent or knows that he's from England!

Sue confesses that she has a super-big crush on Mark Lester!

Her big dream is to someday meet Mark in person.

Sue thinks Jack Wild is one of the nicest, funniest, cutest boys she's ever met.

She got to know Jack when the Cowsills and Jack taped NBC-TV's Kraft Music Hall, which aired this past Christmas Eve.

The Cowsill boys like Jack too. They even invited him to play football with them in Central Park.

Sue is very feminine for a ten-year-old girl - but there's still a bit of a tomboy about her.

She doesn't like to wear skirts and dresses. She prefers slacks and jumpsuits.

The real reason Sue doesn't like wearing dresses and skirts is cos her brothers usually tease her. It's not that they don't like to see girls in dresses. They do! But they like teasing - and this gives them an excuse!

Sue is determined to let her hair grow long.

But she admits that she's liable to cut it again when it gets to that "in-between length."

Sue loves salads and usually orders one with every meal.

Sue is embarrassed to go to the movies with her brothers when she knows it's a film that's going to make her cry.

When her brothers take her to a movie and Sue feels the tears starting - she scrunches in her seat so they won't see her and later tease her about her reaction to the film!

To date, Sue saw Camelot ten times: Romeo and Juliet four times: and Oliver four times!

She wants to see Oliver again - especially since M.L. is in the film!

The Truth About John
John would very much like to be an actor. He'd be a great one!

John wants to make a guest appearance on ABC-TV's Here Come The Brides, and it looks as though his wish may come true very soon!

John has a perfect voice for country and western songs - so don't be surprised if you hear that he went to Nashville or Memphis, Tennessee, to record some tunes.

All of the Cowsills love turkey, but John is partial to the drumsticks - natch!

John is the biggest tease of all the Cowsills. He loves to pull girls' hair, so if you have long locks - WATCH OUT!!

You can really hear how John's voice has changed!!

Just listen to him singing lead on Act Naturally and The Path Of Love, and then compare it to John singing lead on Silver Threads and Golden Needles.

John really like the outfits the Cowsills wore on the Christmas Eve Kraft Music Hall.

They were bulky green sweaters and green and blue wool bell bottoms.

Private Line To Barry
Barry's very first date was a blind date!

The date was arranged by brother Bob, who doubled with Barry.

Although Barry occasionally wears a friendship ring - he is not engaged or married - so forget those rumors! The ring was actually a gift from a fan!

Barry really chuckled over rumors that he was secretly married and replied, "At my age?" (He was 15 on September 14th.)

Barry is a big fan of the late, great comedian W. C. Fields.

His Mom bought him a full-length statue of W. C. Fields and it's one of Barry's favorite possessions.

He also treasures gifts sent to him by his fans.

In fact, he save every single strand of love beads sent to him!

Barry and John share a bedroom in their Santa Monica Home.

Barry decorated his side of the room with posters and psychedelic lights.

Barry loves the smell of burning incense.

Barry enjoys reading factual news magazines like Look and Life, cos he's very interested in current events.

Barry will be a guest host for Dick Clark's new Saturday afternoon show Get It Together on ABC-TV.

Barry may also appear on Bill Cosby Show.

Gettin' Personal With Paul
Paul recently got his driver's license.

He's trying to decide what kind of car to get.

Paul really digs driving - even on the busy California freeways!

Before Paul got his driver's license, he got around California by hitchhiking.

Paul may make a guest appearance on ABC-TV's Mod Squad - acting not singing!

On stage and records, Paul sings lead for most of the rhythm and blues songs.

Even though you might not notice it when you first meet Paul - he's basically shy.

If you want Paul to notice you, always remember to be ladylike and warm and friendly.

He likes girls with a natural look.

Paul hates teased hair and heavy make-up, and wishes that girls would realize how much prettier they look without all that stuff covering their faces!

Paul is secretly very romantic.

He loves walking on the beach with a girl.

Paul is very restless. He doesn't like to stand still.

Very often, late at night, he takes off in a car and drives for hours - just taking in the groovy California countryside.

Up-To-Date With Bob
Bob recently went to a hospital to have a cyst removed from under his right eye. He has to wear an eye patch for a few weeks - but don't worry, cos he's fine now.

Bob loves writing and arranging songs.

Some tunes Bob wishes he had written include the scores from Oliver and Hair, and all of the tunes of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper LP.

Bob is in his last year of Hollywood Jr. College.

He plans to continue his education when he graduates.

He's presently deciding what school he'll attend next year.

Bob loves to eat steak.

He always orders a glass of milk before his meals.

Bob usually drinks two or three Pepsis with his dinner.

Bob recently had his car cracked up when he loaned it to friends. Nothing serious, as "the heap" - as Bob called it - was about to collapse on its own, anyway!

Brothers Bill & Dick
Bill Cowsill has been busily pursuing his career as a record producer.

Bill recently produced the Osmond Brother's new single Make The Music Flow and Takin' On A Big Thing on the Barnaby label.

He also produced a group called Popcorn for MGM.

Dick Cowsill (Bob's twin) is stationed in Viet Nam.

Dick got an unexpected leave late in August and, needless to say - he headed right home to surprise his family!

When Dick arrived in California, he discovered that his family was away on tour!

Dick immediately hopped on a plane - and surprised them in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

All of the Cowsills were shocked but very happy to see Dick!

Mini-Mom reports that Dicks looks just wonderful. He's tall and thin and has grown a groovy mustache!

After a few weeks of fun with his family Dick returned to Viet Nam to complete his military obligations.

When he gets out of the service, Dick plans to return to law school.
