One little, two little, three little Cowsills! Count 'em all and you'll find that there are nine! But that doesn't complete the Cowsill "family tree" - for it doesn't include the 10th Cowsill! And just who could that be? Why, YOU - and nobody but YOU!!
Yes - Susie, John, Barry, Paul, Dick and Bob, Bill, Mini-Mom and Bud-Dad have decided that it is about time they all got together and "adopted" one more little Cowsill! And that's where you come in !!
How would you like to meet the Cowsill family, spend a glorious day with them - and become the 10th Cowsill?! Well, it's about to happen to YOU - and it's faster 'n' easier than counting to ten. First, read the heavenly schedule that has been planned with you in mind - and then read on and find out how super-simple-E-Z it is for you to meet the Cowsill clan and become the 10th Cowsill!
One glorious day this summer, you (and a chaperone) will be flown, bussed, trained, trucked or shipped to wherever the Cowsill family happens to be - and that could be in one of many places. Frinstance, SJBPD&B and Bill (along with their mom and dad, of course) will be in New York City, in Newport, R.I. (at the family home), in Hawaii and at Atlantic City's famous Steel Pier at one time or another this coming summer. At one of these spots they are going to take a long breather and welcome you into their private world!
You will be introduced to each little and each big Cowsill and then you will spend unforgettable hours with them - chatting, eating (all the Cowsills are very good at this!), taking pictures (16 will see that you get plenty of these - plus a big, groovy photo album of your unbelievable Cowsill-day), and exchanging information and ideas. If you are on the shy side, don't worry. The Cowsills are experts at making young people relax and feel right at home!
You don't have to trouble your little head about a thing - 16 will make all arrangements, pay for everything and make sure that you (and your chaperone) have the best time of your entire life! Just think - quick as a wink YOU can be laughing with Susie, chatting with Barry, listening to John, playing games with Paul, gabbing with Dick and Bob, and grooving with Bill - not to mention getting all the latest inside news on the whole Cowsill clan from Mini-Mom and Bud-Dad!!
Does it all sound too good to be true? Well, it isn't - and here is exactly how you can become the lucky girl to meet the Cowsill family and spend a day with them!
Just write a letter telling simply and sincerely "Why I Love The Cowsills." Write your letter to the Cowsill family as if you were actually with them, talking to them, confiding in them. Let the words pour from your heart. And be sure to write your letter on one sheet of paper - and on one side of the paper only.
After you've finished your letter, fill in the coupon on this page, cut it out and attach your letter to it. In addition, attach a recent photo portrait or snapshot of yourself. (Note: no pictures will be returned!) Then mail your letter and picture with the coupon to the address on the coupon. That's all you have to do!
The Cowsill clan and 16's Editor-in-Chief, Gloria Stavers, will judge every letter submitted - and will select the one letter which in their judgment is the best written from the standpoint of warmth and sincerity. The writer of this letter will be the oh-so-lucky girl who will be "adopted" by the Cowsills as the 10th Cowsill - and who will be invited to spend an unforgettable absolutely glorious day with them! You don't have to worry about "dressing up" or "how to act" or anything of that sort, cos the Cowsills are just like your own folks at home - an easy-going, warm, wonderfully informal family. Just be the same way when you meet them and they'll all take you into their hearts!
Get out your paper and pen, pencil or typewriter now - and send your letter (and picture) on it's way!
Note: Maybe there are some of us who remember that Ellen ???? of Long Island City, New York (hey now I'm thinking this contest was rigged! hee hee) was the winner. Check out pictures from Ellen's day with the Cowsills.
