James G. - Cowsills were great in Mississippi Last night!! Had a blast!! Just wish they could have played more songs on this Happy Together Tour at least one or two and it would have been super great!!
Jeff P. - they ARE having SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN on the HTT....GREAT ADDITION..

The Cowsills quickly followed Dante with the trademark three-part vocal harmonies courtesy of siblings Bob, Susan and Paul.
Hailing from "just down the road" in Newport, Rhode Island, the trio would rifle through their own greatest hits collection - including "The Rain, The Park & Other Things" and "Hair" - while displaying a mixture of on-stage energy and self-deprecating humor surrounding the age of its members - a common theme throughout the night.
"We're old people too. But if you want to do this, get new knees," cracked Susan Cowsill to her brother, Paul, after leaping off the drum riser.
|
Centerline.news - The Cowsills, on the tour for the third year in a row, were once again a revelation on their huge hits "The Rain, The Park and Other Things," "Indian Lake" and "Hair."
Jonathan R. - And of course, the Cowsills knocked it out of the park again last night in Tarrytown!
Ken O. - Susan, Bob, Paul, You knocked it out of park. Crowd loved you!
Gary N. - Tarrytown,NY 6/18/17-GREAT show !!!
Lois R. - They are always the highlight of HTT!!! Great night at Keswick!

While much of the success of the Happy Together Tour – the annual jaunt that collects oldies acts for an ensemble show –relies on the familiarity of the hit songs they perform, Thursday night’s stop at Penn’s Peak near Jim Thorpe showed there’s also something to be said for keeping the show fresh.
Now 33 years since it started (is there such thing as an oldies oldies show?) the tour as usual had as its anchor The Turtles, featuring Flo and Eddie (Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan). Longtime tour members The Association also were back, as was frequent feature Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night.
But the most interesting acts of the night were ones not previously seen on the tour: The Box Tops, The Cowsills and Ron Dante, voice of The Archies. And The Box Tops may have been the best of the bunch.
. . .
The Cowsills – surviving siblings Paul, Bob and Susan (brother John now plays with The Beach Boys; the other two brothers deceased) -- were surprisingly good.
The trio opened with “The Rain, The Park and Other Things,” recapturing the 1960s/Partridge Family feel (The Cowsills were the inspiration for TV’s ”The Partridge Family.”) Some of the songs sounded very dated – “Indian Lake” and especially the flower-power anthem “We Can Fly.”
But the set-closing hit “Hair” still connected, with Susan nailing the tonality of the original. It got a partial standing ovation.
The group also played the theme to the 1970s show “Love American Style” – who knew it originally sang that?

Duke26 - The Cowsills were next and they were phenomenal. Only 3 remain but they sang brilliantly. There's something about siblings singing together (see The Bee Gees, The Carpenters, The Jacksons) that brings a special kind of magic. Favorite moment: Meeting Tommy James, The Cowsills singing "The Rain, The Park and Other Things"
ricatao - Favorite moment: The Cowsills blew away my expectations
Shelbydog - Favorite moment: The set preformed by the Cowsills
20forever - The Cowsills as fun as ever. I thought this was a wonderful show and would recommend it to all. It was very good time music!
MowtownBob - Cowsills have made the tour the last three years
Bouldercityguy - Was a lot of fun, just wish they each would have played a little longer Favorite moment: Cowsills
WBPBAILEY - The Cowsills were our favorite singing featured hits such as Hair and Love American Style. Missed John this year!
StellarPop - The Cowsills are always fabulous
Gary1952 - The Cowsills took the stage first and were absolutely incredible!
35Always - Favorite moment: All added great dialogue/humor to their time on stage and gave insight to their careers....Paul Cowsill should be an aerobics instructor!
CTAbeginnings - Favorite moment: The Cowsills The Rain, the Park, and Other Things brought tears (of joy) to my eyes the entire song.
Anonymous from Genesse Theatre - Favorite moment: The Cowsills just blew me away with their voice power
peeweesh - Awesome show. Love all these groups. The cowsills and box tops were my favorites.
Partsguy1 - Show was excellent. Cowsills were the best of the bunch would pay to see them in concert alone
mikeblueashThe Cowsills-fun and energetic!
Mavis1000 - Cowsills were totally AWESOME!!!!!
John3269 - Favorite moment: The Cowsills
grandmalmk - Cowsills were fantastic
Harper19 - The Cowsills were the most pleasant surprise: great energy, great sound.
Mackenbach - Favorite moment: Cowsills!
Anonymous from Effingham IL - All of the groups were good but The Cowsills were our favorites
Roboscott56 - Favorite moment: Too many "favorite" moments to mention, but the Cowsills really my favorites!

Kathie D. - They are VERY much into their fans
David C. - I was browsing the merchandise table, the last time the HTT hit Fraze Pavilion, and one of the friends I went with tapped me on the shoulder and said "Come on, man, the Cowsills are standing right behind you." I thought he was just trying to get me away from the table so we could leave, but I turn around, and sure enough, there they were! Such nice folks

Band:
Manny Focarazzo - keyboards/vocals
Chris Camilleri - drums/vocals
Barry Waller - bass/vocals
Godfrey Townsend - guitar/keys/vocals/musical director
In a June 11, 2017 interview, the Cowsills talked of this tour. Cowsills share their bus with Association and Chuck Negron. Paul and Chuck were bunkmates. They say Chuck tells the best stories. Susan says of Chuck “He’s the winner of story time on the bus.”
Flo and Eddie's humor this year was based on Beauty and the Beast. A Centerline.news article says, "Volman and Kaylan this year come out in one of their wackiest costumes yet—the recent movie's Beauty and The Beast. "Stop the music!" said Kaylan, tearing off his Beast mask. "How low can we go? We've done some screwed-up s—t in our time, but this is the dumbest thing ever!" Then Volman, as Beauty, proffered him a rose, and they made up in time for "She'd Rather Be with Me." "
