The Pied Piper The Chingin' Times (1965)
The 'Pied Piper,' a UK hit for both Crispian St Peters and Bob and Marcia, was written by Artie Kornfeld and Steve Duboff, who were founder members of a band named The Changin' Times that went on tour as the opening act to Sonny & Cher in 1965. The pair also wrote the Sixties American hits 'The Rain, The Park And Other Things' and 'We Can Fly' for The Cowsills. Steve went on to become a record company executive and wrote songs for, amongst others, The Turtles, Ringo Starr and The Monkees, whilst Artie, who by the time he was 24 also held a senior position in a music company, had written over 60 American hits for the likes of Freddy Cannon, Gene Pitney, The Shirelles and Connie Francis, as well as being one of the founders of the famous 1969 Woodstock festival.

THE RAIN, THE PARK AND OTHER THINGS The Cowsills (1967)
The Cowsills were an all-family group consisting of five brothers, a sister and mother, and were the inspiration behind The Partridge Family. Because the title of the song doesn't appear in the lyric, it was often referred to as "The Flower Girl."

The Rain, The Park and Other Things
The Cowsills (1967) US No. 2
