Personally I dont believe in atheists. I think God's immprint is in our DNA, on our hearts, and in our souls. We are a tribe of disobedient children. Rock and Roll is just another voice from the tribe screaming out with our fists raised at the heavens to some god that may or may not exist. Rock and Roll is healthy. Every rock lyricist is confessing all the time or bragging about their sinful past or delivering psychosexual babble. But what the rock is really doing is giving a gigantic yell for help. Sheryl and I sometimes give talks to church youth groups. I'm sure I've raised some eyebrows when I ask everybody in the audience to think of their favorite song. It could be Lady Gaga, the Beatles, or Sex Pistols. I then challlenge them to think of oothe lyrics. As a Christian knowing what they know, I ask if they can buy in to what the artist is selling. Everybody is preaching something. Then I tell them it's okay to love that song - Marilyn Manson or the Cowsills. Just know where you stand. Jesus did not come to condemn. . . . - Alice Cooper
