3. THE COWSILLS AS THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY
In the mid-sixties, every kid wanted to be in a band. Four brothers from Rhode Island started a band, and soon their mother began to sing with them. Another brother and a sister later joined, making the band a real family affair (their father was the manager). The Cowsills started to get noticed , got a record contract, recorded some hits like "Indian Lake" and "Hair," got on TV, and became a big deal. Soon the offer came for the kids to star in their own TV show. But the offer was only for the kids - Shirley Jones had already been cast as the mother. The Cowsill kids didn't want to appear without their real mother, so they took a pass.
