Cowsills, The. The Cowsills were an American pop group from Newport, Rhode Island, comprising father, mother, and six children, who provided the real-life inspiration for the television series The Partridge Family. The Cowsills had a series of hits in the late 1960s, including "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things" (1968), "Indian Lake" (1968), and the theme from the rock musical Hair (1969).
