Back Matter:
JOHN COWSILL John Cowsill could really play drums, and not badly. Of course, the stick-sweet pop-glop The Cowsill family passed of as rock was forgettable at best. The group’s earliest singles were pretty good garage rock, but once The Cowsills singed with MGM Records they began to project a gaggingly cute image that made most self-respecting rock fans hurt. It got them hits, so who’s to argue? To paraphrase another writer, would you want to be in a band with your mom?
