. . . But I did love the music, and I suspect those early days in the choir instilled my love of harmony, of voices blending, and the power of people singing together. It lead to my admiration of those other great Motown bands: the Temptations, the Commodores, the Four Tops, the Miricles and the like. The Jackson 5 was part of that too. I even liked their daggier white-bread comtemporaries, the Osmonds and the Cowsills. ('Indian lake' anybody?). . . .
